Top 10 Unique Things to Do in Paris, France
Paris completely lived up to every cliché — charming streets, dreamy architecture, and croissants that taste like they were baked in heaven. I spent three magical days here and had more than a few “pinch me” moments. Here’s what I did (and a couple I’m saving for next time).
1. Eiffel Tower 🌟 Did This
It’s the icon of Paris for a reason. I had lunch inside the tower, and it was a dream come true — especially when the staff sang “Happy Birthday” to someone and I pretended it was for me.
JD’s Tip: Book tickets in advance to avoid the long queues. Go in the evening to watch it sparkle every hour.
Taking a break with Paris’ most famous backdrop — the perfect spot to daydream.
2. Louvre Museum 🌟 Did This
The world’s largest art museum is more than just the Mona Lisa — I loved the ancient Egypt section too.
JD’s Tip: Enter through the Carrousel du Louvre underground entrance to skip some of the crowds.
Looking out from the Louvre onto its iconic glass pyramid — art inside and out.
3. Notre Dame Cathedral 🌟 Did This
Even after the fire, Notre Dame remains stunning. The gargoyles were a highlight, especially spotting one that seemed to wink.
JD’s Tip: Visit at sunset for golden light over the Seine.
Standing beneath the towers of Notre Dame, still magnificent and full of stories.
4. Montmartre & Sacré-Cœur 🌟 Did This
This hilltop neighbourhood feels like stepping into a painting. I enjoyed the views and wandering the cobbled streets.
JD’s Tip: Climb up from the back streets instead of the main stairs — it’s quieter and full of hidden cafés.
The white domes of Sacré-Cœur gleaming under a perfect Parisian sky.
5. Moulin Rouge 🌟 Did This
Even without seeing a show, the glowing red windmill was worth the walk.
JD’s Tip: Visit in the evening when the lights are on for that perfect photo.
Red, bold, and dazzling — just like the Moulin Rouge.
6. Seine River Cruise ⏳ Missed This
Seeing Paris from the water is still on my list — next time, I’ll book a sunset cruise.
JD’s Tip: A night cruise is extra magical with the city lights.
Watching the boats and dreaming of my next Paris adventure.
7. Musée d’Orsay ⏳ Missed This
I didn’t have time for this one, but the Impressionist art and the clock-face view are calling me back.
JD’s Tip: Head straight to the top floor for sweeping views of Paris.
8. Champs-Élysées & Arc de Triomphe 🌟 Did This
Strolling this famous avenue felt iconic, and the Arc de Triomphe views were worth the climb.
JD’s Tip: Go early in the morning for fewer crowds and better photos.
All roads lead to the Arc de Triomphe… at least in Paris.
9. Tuileries Gardens 🌟 Did This
The perfect place to slow down with a baguette and people-watch. I wandered through here without even realizing I was in one of Paris’s most famous gardens.
JD’s Tip: Grab a takeaway pastry and enjoy a mini picnic.
A green oasis in the heart of Paris.
10. Sainte-Chapelle ⏳ Missed This
I’ve seen photos of the stained glass and it looks like standing inside a kaleidoscope — it’s on my must-do list for next time.
JD’s Tip: Buy a combined ticket with the Conciergerie next door for added history.
